SEND IN THE SKATERS
by Trudi Marrapodi
(to "Send In the Clowns")
Isn't it rich? Do we have a pair?
Dancers who glide on the ice, or singles in
air?
Send in the skaters...
Isn't it weird? Nothing to prove?
Now that the worlds come around,
they just can't move!
Where are the skaters?
Send in the skaters...
Seems when they won Olympic gold,
most of the skaters decided this whole thing was
old,
Making their exits with their usual flair--
The fans flock to see...but no one is there!
Don't you love farce?
Speedy's fault, I fear!
He thought that they'd want what he wanted--
--they said "Sorry, my dear!"
Send in the clowns...
Those ISU clowns...
Don't bother...THEY'RE here!
Isn't it rich? Isn't it weird?
Losing our skaters to school, or to pro
careers?
Where are the skaters? There ought to be
skaters...
...Well, maybe next year!
