"FIX STORY"
by Trudi Marrapodi
(to the tune of "Love Story")
Where do I begin,
To tell the story of how big a shaft can be?*
A sad fix story that is older than the sea?
The simple truth about what skating still should
be?
Where do I start?
They stepped on the ice,
They gave new meaning to a hokey movie theme,
They skated as if in a magic kind of dream,
A lovely program without fault or slip or seam,
They filled my heart!
They filled my heart with very special things,
Each stroke was fine, each movement seemed to
sing,
They skated well their tale of love,
That anywhere you go they'd say the same--
Who could deny them?
When he reached for her hand, it was always
there.
How could it not last?
Can gold be measured by a sport in disarray?
I have no answers now, but this much I can say,
I know that many people think a different way--
And I do, too.
*no jokes please, this is a love song. ;-)
